Postdoctoral position in
multisensory anatomy and physiology Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position to study the
organization of multisensory interactions in the primate cerebral cortex. The
research involves anatomical tract tracing combined with electrophysiological
characterizations of multisensory areas. The work is focused on the posterior
auditory cortex and its neocortical and subcortical circuitry, and is pursued
in a collaboration between Drs. J. Smiley, C.E. Schroeder and T.A. Hackett. The
applicant will have the opportunity to be involved in anatomical analysis and
in electrophysiological recording/tracer delivery with multicontact electrodes.
Additionally, ongoing studies are using quantitative anatomical methods to
identify the homologous cortical areas in human postmortem brains. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Psychology,
Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. Experience with anatomical
analysis is preferable. The initial appointment will be for one year. The starting date is
ASAP. Please send inquiries to: Charles Schroeder (Schrod@nki.rfmh.org) Or; John Smiley (Smiley@nki.rfmh.org) Cognitive Neuroscience and Schizoprhenia Program Nathan Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research NKI is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Charles E.
