[cdn-nucl-l] Re: NRCan; tips for increasing energy efficiency

Dan

I received another letter from my Royal LePage agent with "some tips for increasing the energy efficiency in your home".   (I'm sure he's dying for me to sell my home.)

"Did you know that washing laundry in cold water uses 50% less energy?"   Natural Resources Canada

I guess the next tip from NR Canada will be to wash my laundry on a stone at the side of the Credit River.  This is service I'm getting for my tax dollars!

This is a good point. We who labor (part time) for NRCan Office of Energy Research and Development have mentioned this a few thousand times inside the Department -- with no effect. I have wandered through their exhibits a number of times, and have only very rarely found the "N-Word".

I dug up a hard-to-find reference to nuclear energy at URL <
http://nrcan.gc.ca/eneene/science/intint-eng.php>. It refers to the GIF and Gen IV programs. Don't read too fast, or you'll miss it.

You have touched on a very real problem that exists within the federal bureaucracy.
