Our wonderful provincial government passed the ideologically-driven Green Energy Act.  This GEA promotes and subsidizes "renewable" electrical power produced by windmills and solar panels.

This renewable (but intermittent) power costs much more (several times more) than the non-CO2 "green" power that we get from our nuclear plants (55% of Ontario's electricity) and our hydro plants.

You and I and everyone else in the Province of Ontario (who pay for electricity) are now paying much more money (higher power rates) forever, for the electricity we use, to pay the capital cost of the "free" solar panels and its accessories.  Where else will the money come from to pay for this "free" equipment?

The Government of Ontario is bribing us with our own money because it thinks that it is more ethical for us to use more expensive and intermittent solar power.

Pure Energies states: "We take pride in our solution. By offering financing, installation, maintenance, and ongoing system monitoring, at no cost to you; we make it easy and affordable for you to make money and make a difference with solar."

Pure Energy and the solar panel suppliers are making big money and we Ontario electricity consumers are paying for the good, ethical feeling of using free solar energy.  Ask Pure Energy how you "make money"?  Will your free solar-generated power be sold back to us consumers, giving you a subsidy for putting these panels on your roof?

I suppose this benefit/subsidy will pass on to the next owner of your house.  Ask Pure Energy exactly who owns the solar panels.  Can you take them off your roof and sell the panels to someone else?  What happens if you want disconnect them or if they break down or if they get dirty.

You might consider taking this subsidy so that we can all learn first-hand how it works.

Since you are a financial planner and analyst, try to figure out for yourself where the money comes from and where it goes.

I have somebody coming to the house next Tuesday to discuss converting my house to Solar Energy at no cost, part of a government program to convert communities.  The company is called Pure Energy.  They said they will also pay me between $300-1200 per year.

Uncle Jerry, have you heard about this company or government program?  Hopefully it’s not a scam!!
