I have done a database which can be very helpful to nuclear sector,
which is an intellectual property oriented sector.
This database includes the information of the patent-oriented
companies located in the belt-shape area from Montreal to Waterloo. My
database has now over one thousand companies and organizations in both
public and private sectors in the most populated
area in Canada. These entities all have US patents granted during last
five years, and thus should be able to represent the economic strength
of this country.
In a short term, it means that I have the intelligence regarding major
Canadian players' name and their strength (patent). From this, many of
the executive level decision making issues regarding market
competition, business merge/acquisition can be answered.
This database was inspired from my work with the government of Region
of Peel. Originally, I was to study the highly educated immigrants’
unemployment problem. My idea was to use patent mapping study to
identify potential employers in Toronto which may have sustainable
competitive advantage and likely to hire highly educated immigrants
for innovation. I successfully provided the government with a name
I would be grateful if you can refer me to whomever you know may be
interested in what I have done and my idea.
