EP is essentially a 2-person show, with others involved in the "Energy Probe Research Foundation" umbrella and its various names.  I believe they are regarded with suspicion by the environmental NGOs, because of their belief in the markets as a solution to everything.
 
Long-time professional anti-nuclear activist Tom Adams left EP a couple of yrs ago, to strike out on his own.

how were they able to achieve consensus on nuclear, coal, wind, gas, and presumably solar?
don't they have a "variety" of opinions within on the different sources, or are they a one or two-person show?

Yes, Energy Probe is anti-nuclear, pro-coal, anti-wind, formerly strongly pro-gas but not anymore.  They are against anything that has any subsidies.  EP believe that markets are self regulating and are the best way to operate society.

Another intersting tid-bit is the author's affiliation (energy probe)... a group whose other members sometimes appear in the same newspaper arguing against Nuclear...
