The Public Relations issue is difficult. I would like to see a lot more
openness when it comes to reporting problems. But if your local nuclear
reactor does this, and your local coal fueled generator does not, then
at the end of the year nuclear will look problematic compared to coal.
Everyone has to be playing by the same rules for this to work in favour
of nuclear.

And somehow the nuclear industry people have to convey more confidence
and pride - things that people outside the industry can understand and
respond too. I think the publishing of Roger Steed's book "Nuclear
Power in Canada and Beyond"

http://www.amazon.com/Nuclear-Power-Canada-Beyond-Roger/dp/189711351X

and the production of D. Lightfoot's DVD "Nobodys Fuel"

http://www.nobodysfuel.com/

are examples of what has to be done.

I also see the the NEI blog "NEI Nuclear Notes" is being rejuvenated
and will have a fresh look starting Monday, 2007 Jul 23. I am looking
forward to that.
