Interesting day. I woke up to a CBC news item about security issues at
Canadian nuclear sites. I don't know who digs these things up and gets
them on the news, but since Energy Probe and CCNR "experts" were quoted
I assume that they originated this non-story. The item was another
example of the system working correctly, and anti-nuke extremists trying
to paint this as a problem. What double-think!
Then a little later there is another story on CBC about five miners
killed in a Kentucky coal mine.
So we have a nice comparison highlighted - nuclear plants that don't
cause any harm vs coal mines that kill.
I think electricity bills should include a box that shows the number of
coal miners killed that month. This parallels food labels that are
required to list all the harmful ingredients.
