Dies anyone know what modifying/using current hybrids for plug-in will do to
battery life?

Sad, but it seems to be true. By the time they get around to
requiring some new ones we will have to go to India to contract the
expertise needed to build them.
I figure that we have to drive the electricity demand sky high to
force them to come to their senses. That is why I promote plug-in
hybrid cars. We could do all our commuting to work using electric
motors. Fifteen new reactors would do the job.
