[cdn-nucl-l] US Energy Policy Act of 2005

Bush said: "Nuclear power is one of the safest, cleanest sources of
power in the world, and we need more of it in America." He said: "Our
country is on the doorstep of incredible technological advances that
will make energy more abundant and more affordable for our citizens.
By harnessing the power of technology, we're going to be able to grow
our economy, protect our environment and achieve greater energy
independence."

Sheesh - when I found out that George agreed with me I had to wonder
if I had finally lost my grip on reality. What a world!

It appears that the US is still half-hearted when it comes to
embracing nuclear fission. They want to keep the option open in order
to weaken the coal miner's union, but they don't want it to grow to a
level that reduces oil profits.
