MISSISSAUGA, ON, April 21 /CNW/ - Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL) is
pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Glenn Archinoff as Chief
Regulatory Officer (CRO) for AECL's Nuclear Laboratories Business Unit. As
CRO, Mr. Archinoff will be responsible for leading the drive to excellence
in AECL's overall compliance with regulatory standards, while providing
coordination of the various licensing activities related to AECL's nuclear
facilities and site operations, including waste management and
decommissioning.

Mr. Archinoff has extensive experience in the nuclear licensing and
regulatory environment both in Canada and the U.S. During his career, he
worked more than 15 years with Ontario Hydro where he gained extensive
knowledge and experience in all aspects of nuclear safety analysis,
licensing and safety system concepts for CANDU nuclear plants. For the past
12 years, he has been a consultant to the nuclear industry, providing
strategic advice and direction to nuclear utilities and technology companies
on safety and licensing issues, as well as interfacing with the U.S. and
Canadian nuclear regulators.
