Kyoto a real money pit

Re: Government unveils $10B Kyoto strategy, April 14.
If you liked Adscam, you will love this government's Kyoto plan. Billions of
our tax dollars have already been wasted on futile propaganda and now
billions more are committed to a plan based on junk science and flawed
economics.
This plan will not result in Canada meeting its Kyoto targets; it will
result in a bloated bureaucracy shuffling paper credits and transferring our
tax money overseas. Proponents admit that even if the plan were successful,
it would not cause any detectable effect on the climate -- it is only a
first step. Pray to be saved from a second.
Anticipating the usual response of Kyoto advocates with an ad hominem
attack, I am a reputable scientist who has never been employed by the
fossil-fuel industry. Although like most Kyoto advocates, I am not a
climatologist, I am competent to detect false logic. I am a long-time
advocate of nuclear energy.
Since it emits negligible greenhouse gases, its interest would be served by
Kyoto implementation. It would be unethical to benefit by misleading the
public.
The part of the plan aimed at the true pollution that harms people and the
environment should be retained and improved; that pretending to affect
natural climate change should be scrapped and the savings put to a useful
purpose.
Remember Kyoto when you submit your tax return.
