[cdn-nucl-l] FW: Dr. Durakovic at Port Hope

Having read the many comments on Dr. Durakovic, I would like to remind individuals that medical speech, unlike scientific discourse, is not free speech, and is regulated to protect the public and to maintain the public trust that physicians enjoy.   Should any in this forum feel that a physician’s stated advice represents gross incompetence, or that promoting his lab test exploits the patient, please notify the Ontario College of Physicians and Surgeons about your concerns.  They will talk to you about how to register a complaint at (416) 967-2615 or 1-800-268-7096 ext. 615.  It will be useful to mail them a copy of the Northumberland News article, which is still available at: http://www.durhamregion.com/dr/nn/news/story/2424134p-2806312c.html

Their address is:

Dr. Durakovic no longer has a medical license in Ontario (He is a graduate of the McMaster Medical School), but he does have one in the State of New York.  Whether you are from the states, or from Canada, you have standing to register complaints to New York State’s Office of Medical Conduct.  Any complaint sent to Ontario’s College of Physicians and Surgeons can be sent to New York as well.
