RealClimate is a commentary site on climate science by working climate
scientists for the interested public and journalists. It provides a
quick response to developing stories and it provides the context
sometimes missing in mainstream commentary. The discussion is
restricted to scientific topics and does not get involved in any
political or economic implications of the science.

It isn't often that a group of scientists get together to offer their
views before they reach the peer-reviewed literature. But now a group
of nine climatologists have started a blog, dubbed RealClimate, to
present their views on climate science.

"We hope this site will serve as a resource that can challenge
mis-representations or mis-understandings of the science as they occur
in real time," said Michael Mann, one of the founders of the site.

Other contributors include Gavin Schmidt of NASA-GISS, Ray Bradley of
U Mass, and Stefan Rahmstorf of the Potsdam Institute for Climate
Impact Research in Germany. It should be an interesting site.
