It is clear that buildings should be heated and cooled by electricly
delivered power. We can do that right away.

I don't want anything to do with hydrogen. It is a terrible element.
It cannot be made dense enough to transport energy into vehicles.
It hardens metals, making pipeline transport impractical due to leaks.
And a big release will bubble up to the top of the atmosphere and
destroy the ozone layer. Hope you have strong sun glasses! No we
don't want hydrogen. What we want is metals such as aluminum or zinc
used to transfer energy from the grid into vehicles. Metal provides
an energy dense medium that is safe to handle and very effective as an
energy transport mechanism. The use of aluminum has been demonstrated
at a university in BC, and zinc use has been demonstrated in the USA.
So these approaches are feasible and much safer than hydrogen.

Also, hydrogen gets converted into water vapour in vehicles, yet
another green house gas. This does not happen with metals.

I want almost all our energy needs provided by fission. This is
actually quite easy to do. Electric motors in cars is not a big leap,
and plugging a car in over night is a common thing in Canada. Ships
can have reactors right on board. Trains can pick up energy from
overhead lines. Trucks are a bit of a problem. They would probably
have to drop off the spent aluminum and pick up a fresh block to
continue going. They don't have much time for recharging. And
airplanes may have to continue using oil based fuels.

I am writing to the Ontario government frequently now, asking them to
impose a tax on carbon based air pollution. I think such a tax would
cause the above changes to appear almost instantly. I also think our
electricity bills should be sprinkled with red dots, one for each coal
miner killed world wide. There would not be much white space showing
this year.
