[cdn-nucl-l] " New Brunswick: Nuclear plant's overhaul opposed "

I'm not sure, but I think this is probably the first time in at least six
months that the Montreal Gazette has printed anything about the Point
Lepreau refurbishment project..... guess what angle they're covering :

New Brunswick: Nuclear plant's overhaul opposed
CanWest News Service
Saturday, November 20, 2004

A coalition of environmental groups is calling on the federal government to
reject any involvement in refurbishing New Brunswick's aging nuclear power
plant. The province's Conservative government is expected to announce its
plans for the Point Lepreau generating station near Saint John by the end of
the year. Greenpeace Canada, the Climate Action Network, the Sierra Club,
the David Suzuki Foundation and the Pembina Institute jointly wrote to Prime
Minister Paul Martin asking that he reject any proposal from Atomic Energy
of Canada Ltd. for reactor refurbishment at Lepreau.

....if these people weren't actually serious, their opposition would be
quite hilarious, IMO.
