[cdn-nucl-l] Utility Scale Renewable Energy

Dear Colleagues,

I recall some of us recently got into a long email chain on the merits of distributed wind energy in the context of CNS meeting notices.

I’m providing links to a paper and thesis by Murray Love of the Institute for Integrated Energy Systems of the University of Victoria. He has actually done some modeling work of wind and solar systems for the United States.  It’s good to see this kind of analysis in the public domain. The results with respect to overcapacity and storage to need to compensate for the intermittent nature of renewables are most interesting.
