Interesting problem!  Can nuclear plants vary power output to follow wind intensity trends?

Windpower lobby opposes nuclear reactor phase-out

German windpower installers have suddenly discovered that they depend on
continued and reliable base power.  Otherwise, wind power is useless.  So
they have started to argue against the early phase-out of reactors, as
demanded by the Greens. ("Tagesspiegel" Sept 9).
