The refurbished Bruce A unit 4 produced its first electricity since being shut on January 19, 1998. It was re-synchronized to the grid at 10:37, October 7, 2003. According to the IEMO data, it produced between 33 and 75 MWe (net) throughout October 8th. I presume it was also producing its station load (otherwise it wouldn't be exporting), which is 56 MWe according to IAEA data. IAEA lists its gross power as 825 MWe and 769 MWe net, but I have only heard that it will now be run at 750 MWe net. Any confirmation of this?
Thus, assuming the original 825 MWe as full power, the reactor ran at up to 16% full electrical output. Nucleonics Week (Oct 9, 2003) reported it was synchronized at 8% power (reactor power?).
