IAEA JOINS GENERATION IV PROJECT

Representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will attend
their first policy meeting of the Generation IV international nuclear
reactor project in Toronto this weekend. The IAEA has its own innovative
reactor project called Inpro which is led by Russia. The meeting will serve
to unify the efforts of both the Generation IV project and IAEA in looking
at future nuclear technology. Ten countries are members of the Generation IV
group, while 15 are members of IAEA's Inpro group.

The Canadian government is a member of both groups. Platts 09/23/03
