[cdn-nucl-l] WNA Annual Symposium will take place in London September 3-5

The World Nuclear Association will hold its Annual Symposium in London
September 3-5. The forum is to gather together about 400 representatives of
the world’s nuclear industry, companies and enterprises engaged in various
nuclear fuel cycle sectors. During the Symposium in the event of 50-year
anniversary of President Eisenhower’s address “Atoms for Peace” the founding
ceremony of the World Nuclear University will be held. The new organization
is to be headed by former IAEA Director General Hans Blix and will be a
virtual university with headquarters in London.
At the September WNA Symposium plenary sessions the attendees will address
various aspects of the contemporary nuclear power such as the central
importance of nuclear fuel cycle in the efficient and competitive operation
of N-Plants, situation and forecasts of the uranium market developments,
prospects of new nuclear power units construction, innovative reactor
technologies, non-power applications of atomic energy, role of nuclear power
in the sustainable development. In particular, the representatives from
Eastern Europe will speak on nuclear power prospects in their countries
especially in the context of the forthcoming enlargement of European Union.
