Site for Carbon Sequestration
Tests will Determine Region's Capability to Permanently Store CO2 Underground WONDERFUL!!! I wonder just how many millions/billions we are
going to waste on THIS boon-doggle.
By the way, does anyone know of a good model of the Antarctic
Ice Sheet? I'm thinking along the lines of an FEA - I'm interested in just
how long it will be before the thing (all 7 million cubic miles of it) slips
into the circum-polar ocean. When it does (if it does, although I'm not at
all sanguine), we can expect something over a 200-foot rise in sea-level. That
ought to take out a lot of the blow-hards running around Washington, Texas,
etc...
If we DON'T have a model, I think it is about time that we
developed one. The speed with which that ice shelf broke up (less than 6
weeks) leads me to suspect that there is a whole lot we don't know about ice
sheets, their structure, and their movement.
