[cdn-nucl-l] No munitions found in Novovoronezh NPP's outside cooling pond
Curious cases happen in Russia up to nowadays, as World War II consequences.
Still that has effect...
The next is what I found at Russia's "Rosenergoatom" Concern (Utility)
website.
Press-centre of Rosenergoatom has informed:
"The search operations over the Novovoronezh NPP outside cooling pond
carried out by the Voronezh Regional Office of the Russian Ministry of
Emergencies’ team and underwater engineers of “Peter” company, revealed no
munitions" - was informed by the Press-Centre of "Rosenergoatom" Concern.
Last week the criminal case investigation near the city of Novovoronezh came
across two items looked like mine fins, reportedly stated as World War II
munitions. They were found 3 kilometres away of the nuclear power plant’s
hydraulic structures by divers of Voronezh-based the State Low Draught
Vessel Inspectorate.
The retrieved items, however, have nothing to do with munitions. These are
household and industrial metal objects – pipe sections, pans, buckets, and
the like.
The suspected items were electric insulator and electric motor rotor, which
were taken for munitions due to poor visibility.
Background radiation at Novovoronezh NPP and adjacent territory corresponds
to the natural background values.
