Its great to hear that at least this part of the K2/R4 project has progressed so well -- and regardless of the endless west-European procrastination on EBRD loans, as well as actions by "Public Control," a "non-governmental, environmental organization," last August 2002, which "sued the government in a Kiev district court demanding a halt to the reactors' construction."
Any word on how the K2 (Khmelnytskyi-2) project is advancing (or not) ?

Russian media Nuclear.Ru informed:
Rovno NPP (Ukraine) have completed the first stage of Unit 4 preparing for
start-up and commissioning - reactor process systems pipelines flushing.
In particular, the core cooling emergency system hydroaccumulators,
pressurizer, and primary make-up and blowdown pipelines have got ready.
Emergency and residual heat removal system pumps testing was started on
February 1, 2003 (three safety systems have 12 pumps).
