[cdn-nucl-l] Request for Digest Friendly Postings

Hi folks,
    A little while ago some questions came up about the Digest option on 
this nuclear list.  The problem was that some messages were showing up 
all garbled and often repeated.  
    It seems likely that this is due to the following:  When you post a 
message your email software either asks you whether you want to send in 
"text only", "html" or both formats (multi-mode format = MIME). 
 Sometimes this happens automatically and perhaps you can adjust your 
settings.  The thing is that your same email software receives the 
message in html it processes the coding with the message to display the 
fancy fonts etc.  The software used for the Digest option doesn't handle 
this and sees the message as a big text message with all sorts of odd 
characters (from the html tags).  So it looks pretty messy.  If it's 
sent in MIME then the messages show up repeated, once as a mess of html 
and once as a text message.
    Anyway,  there's not much we can do about this except try and post 
in a friendly manner for the Digest.  So, if possible, please send your 
messages in "text only" format.  It'll make life easier.
