RE: [cdn-nucl-l] big plant out west....

Title: Message
Actually Ron, up here in Canada there are quite a few homes using 1.65 MW -- local police have found they usually belong to the Hell's Angels and are accessorized with a great many grow-lights..... $100 of electricity per day may sound expensive, but it all depends on your return on investment, which I hear is pretty good :-)

Wow. That would be 1.65 MW per home (~$100 of electricity per day!) .  And also about equivalent to 660 large reactor units...
I wonder if the Globe and Mail article has quoted the wrong (660000 MW) number... maybe by a factor of 1000 ?!

I can certainly see how a natural-gas-fired "660,000 megawatt power plant" would cause a lot of pollution :-)
....no wonder federal Environment Minister David Anderson is calling the Yanks about that one !
(they must have one hell of a gas pipeline down there....)
