FYI - The CBC has some interesting archival broadcasts (radio and TV) about Canada's nuclear program available on-line from its website:

Included is a 20-minute radio interview with some (unnamed) scientists of the Montreal Lab, in September 1945. It is obvious at that point that they didn't think there was a lot of uranium in the world, and weren't too optimistic that civilian electricity could be generated from fission anytime soon. How fitting that the archives also includes a radio broadcast from 17 years later, on June 4, 1962, announcing the first electricity from NPD.
