[cdn-nucl-l] CP-1 Memento from ANS

The ANS announced in their latest (November 2001) edition of their bulletin,
Nuclear News, the following intriguing offer (below). Does anyone have the
key to the storage shop ZEEP is stored in up in Chalk River??? Maybe we
could borrow a block of graphite or two... One 50 gram chip in a block of
Lucite, $100 each - why didn't we think of this? :)

History Speaks Through a CP-1 Memento from the ANS

A 4"x4"x1" Lucite block encasing a chip of graphite from Chicago Pile 1 is
available from the American Nuclear Society as a special memento. CP-1, the
world's first nuclear reactor, was constructed in a racquet court under the
stands of Stagg Field at the University of Chicago more than 50 years ago.

It's ideal as an award; as a gift for birthdays, anniversaries, or
Christmas; or for other special occasions.

The CP-1 memento is $75(AM). To order contact ANS.
