The MOx plant is in Cumbria, on the western coast of northern England (i.e. not in Ireland as said in the mail message title). Ireland is very much opposed to reprocessing, but I don't know their stance on nuclear power production. They have long been concerned about the effluent, from BNFL's Sellafield site, entering the Irish Sea (between England+Wales+Scotland and Ireland).
