[cdn-nucl-l] Pro-nuclear piece in La Recherche
Bonjour !
In the December issue of La Recherche (similar to the "Scientific American "
from France), there is a piece by the editorial director, Olivier
Postel-Vinay, titled "irrésistible nucléaire". It is good to see from time
to time a pro-nuclear article, especially in a magazine that has been quite
critical of French choices. He basically writes that James Lovelock is
right when he says that ecologists should be pro-nuclear. He discusses the
image problem of the nuclear industry and says that to change the image it
is not enough to communicate well and to say that we are the best against
the greenhouse effect. The industry has to act to modify things. He
suggests a kind of Marshall plan to clean the ex-USSR nuclear industry and
to prevent another accident. I am skeptical about this suggestion, but I
think that he is right. It is not enough to communicate our message. We
have to do something. But what ??
